(in Swedish below)At the end of it's road, in the middle of the city, we find Bouchon. A restaurant we wanted to visit for a long time and now this day has finally arrived. As soon as we step inside it's like stepping into grandma's arms, it's warm and comforting.
Confit duck is served with dupuy lentils, sweet carrot and red onion in rustic flavours. To be honest, the duck is a bit dry but all the other textures makes it nice and in the end it's a good dish.
The hanger steak melts in our mouth. It's served medium rare on recommendation cooked until 52 degress Celsius to perfection. It's pink, just the way this kind of meet should be. Our waitress informs us prodly where the meet comes from and we are delighted to be part of produce from sustainable and local farming. It's served with the best french fries we have ever had, a sallad with horseradish-dressing and a, as we assume, homemade Béarnaise sauce. The fries we suspect are tripple fried fries and you should go here just to experience what good fries are all about.
Steak tartar is a also served as a main course, with the same lovely french fries and sallad as above. It's 160 grams of tender meet need it's master to overpower the fact that it is a lot of raw meet, but it's just as good as the starter and we enjoy it.
We leave the choices of wine to our competent waitress even though some of us enjoys the ginger ale so much and drinks it to every course.
At this point we are quite full and only some of us have desserts, but all of us tries them. No one can resist the smooth chocolate terrine served with crème anglaise and pistachios. It literally melts in the mouth and the richness of the chocolate overpowers the vanilla custard but it does go well together and they need each other to balance. Even though we're absolutely full it's impossible to leave even the tiniest bit.
Lemon sorbet is perfect for you who always have room for ice cream. The sorbet is sweet but the vodka shot served at the side to pour over brings out the acidity from the lemons and it becomes perfect.
We let the flavours speak for themselfs and pays no attention to the lack of effort plating, the beauty is in the flavours and it absolutely sings in our mouth. Sizes of the dishes are generous and makes them affordable, combined with the waitress knowledge, this is a catch. We are definitely coming back soon and we hope to inspired you to do the same!
